South African Driver Joins German Team for Fourth DTM Campaign
Abt Sportsline has announced the signing of Sheldon van der Linde for the 2023 DTM season. The South African driver will join the German team for his fourth DTM campaign, having previously raced for BMW.
Van der Linde Excited to Join Abt Sportsline
Van der Linde expressed his excitement about joining Abt Sportsline, saying, "I'm very happy to be joining Abt Sportsline for the 2023 DTM season. Abt is a top team with a lot of experience and success in DTM, and I'm looking forward to contributing to their continued success."
Van der Linde has a strong track record in DTM, having won four races and finished on the podium 12 times in his previous three seasons. He will be hoping to continue his success with Abt Sportsline, which is one of the most successful teams in DTM history.
Abt Sportsline Welcomes Van der Linde
Abt Sportsline team principal Thomas Biermaier welcomed van der Linde to the team, saying, "We are very pleased to have Sheldon van der Linde joining Abt Sportsline for the 2023 DTM season. Sheldon is a talented driver with a lot of experience in DTM, and we believe he will be a valuable addition to our team."
Van der Linde will be joined at Abt Sportsline by Ricardo Feller, who has also signed a new contract with the team for the 2023 season.
DTM Season Set to Begin in May
The 2023 DTM season is set to begin on May 27-28 at the Hockenheimring in Germany. The season will consist of 16 races at eight different circuits.
